Happy Birthday TriArt! In November,
1998, TriArt celebrated its one year anniversary. Now that the confetti has been
swept away, we can joyfully report that TriArt Gallery has exceeded all expectations! Of
course TriArt owes thanks to many people and organizations who were vital to their
success. The Fund for the Arts really got things rolling with a "jump start"
grant/loan of $100,000. Without this support and the visionary thinking of Allan Cowen,
who urged the partners to collaborate in this new venture, TriArt would not be a reality.
Many of you have met Lou Lesher, the tireless gallery manager who has given up evenings,
weekends, and lots of sleep to make TriArt such a success. This stellar achievement can
also be attributed to all of the hard work of the TriArt staff and the partnership
organizations' staffs (J.B. Speed Art Museum, Louisville Visual Art Association and the Kentucky Art
and Craft Foundation). All of these gifts of time, talents and treasure have helped us
bring a wonderful visual art experience to tourists and those who work in the city center.
We hope that you, too, will visit the Gallery soon and TriArt! |
