My other love has always been the law. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Law Degree from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville. I also hold a Juris Doctor Degree from that institution and a Master of Laws Degree from the University of Chicago School of Law. From 1970 through 1976 I was a full-time faculty member at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC. From 1976 to 1980 I was a Division Chief in the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in Louisville, KY. In 1980 I was appointed to the trial bench of the Jefferson District Court in Kentucky a position that I was later elected to four times. I retired from the bench several years ago. I have been active in the legal community and have published articles in numerous legal publications including the Journal of the American Bar Association, the University of Kentucky Law Review and the Bureau of National Affairs Family Law Reporter. I engaged in limited private practice in Louisville and Washington from 1969 through 1976.Personal
