Alan and Chuck

Hi, I'm Judge Alan Farber - welcome to my homepage. It is my hope that this site will tell you a bit about myself and show you how I've physically appeared over the years. It is conceived as a starting point for those interested in the art of ventriloquism. There are a few primary reference sites and e-mail addresses which will guide you farther at the end of the page. I became fascinated with ventriloquism at about eight years of age; over 45 years ago. For those of you are interested in my life as a ventriloquist, see the cover article in the Summer 1997 issue of DIALOGUE MAGAZINE by clicking here.

The Law

My other love has always been the law. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Law Degree from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville. I also hold a Juris Doctor Degree from that institution and a Master of Laws Degree from the University of Chicago School of Law. From 1970 through 1976 I was a full-time faculty member at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC. From 1976 to 1980 I was a Division Chief in the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in Louisville, KY. In 1980 I was appointed to the trial bench of the Jefferson District Court in Kentucky a position that I was later elected to four times. I retired from the bench several years ago. I have been active in the legal community and have published articles in numerous legal publications including the Journal of the American Bar Association, the University of Kentucky Law Review and the Bureau of National Affairs Family Law Reporter. I engaged in limited private practice in Louisville and Washington from 1969 through 1976.
Personal

I am married and reside in Louisville, KY with my wife, Sharon, two Siamese cats, Ezra and Josh, my dog, Dutchess, and numerous wooden friends. I am active in community affairs and was selected one of The Ten Outstanding Young American's by the US Jaycees in 1979. In 1985 I was Inducted into the National Hall of Fame for Persons with Physical Disabilities. I have received numerous local and regional awards for community service and humanitarian efforts.

My personal interests include the performing arts from theater to opera and the visual arts. I love virtually all music, but especially traditional American blues.
