Kenzie Lafayette Routh (1837-c1910)

- Kenzie Lafayette Routh was the father of Alice Routh (1874-1957) who was E.C. Routh's second wife. Kenzie served with Co. E, GA 60th Regiment in the Army of Northern Virginia for three years of the Civil War and saw action in Antietam, Gettysburg, Wilderness, Cold Harbor, Petersburg and finally Appomattox. He married Louanna H. C. Loffley (1844-1899) moved from Georgia to Houston, TX where he worked for the railroad. His daughter remarked that she was a grown woman before she realized that "damn Yankee" was two words.

Dr. J. M. Gambrell

- Dr. J.M. Gambrell was a close friend and mentor for E. C. Routh. He was the editor of the Baptist Standard who preceded Dr. Routh. Gambrell served as a scout for Pickett and participated in the infamous charge up Cemetery Ridge on July 3, 1863 at Gettysburg. Gambrell's life stories are detailed in a biography E.C. Routh wrote of him.
