My life has been enriched by the alcoholics and addicts I have worked with over the years. My own spiritual journey has been affected deeply by people recovering from addiction, which Charles May calls the modern "holy disease."
In 1982, I went to work at Pleasant Grove Hospital, which has since become Ten Broeck Hospital. There, I received enough training and experience to become certified as a C.C.D.C. (Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor).
I was a counselor at Jefferson Alcohol and Drug Abuse Center (JADAC) since August, 1988, until August, 1999. I have worked with a variety of people in the roles of counseling, case management, treatment planning, and education. Among my accomplishments has been an ongoing involvement in planning and implementing the educational aspect of the programs there.

I put together
a JADAC web site once, but have had to remove it due to "officialitis."
