The people I
admire the most are those who live life with passion.
Socrates said,
"The unexamined life is not worth living." I believe this wholeheartedly.
However, it is also true that,
"The unlived life is not worth examining."
This page is dedicated to that idea.

My brother
Charles once
said, "Gustatory
pleasures are among the best." I think this may have been over a bottle
of good French wine brought here by our friend, Jimmy
Sabater. (See his gallery at Jimmy Sabater On-line Gallery.) At any rate, friends know that I get excited when the conversation
turns to food and other pleasures. Find here some of the millions of links
to food and taste-related sites I've enjoyed, as well as some thoughts, along with several recipes I've either created or use a lot.
More on exciting tastes

Not just fishing,
but any experience that can get me out into the weather and dance with
Mother Nature. There are some informative sites about outdoors types of
things, but this is definitely one area one must experience! Accept
no cheap substitutes!
Some thoughts
and links on gardening as well.
Let's go fishing

In general,
some of the "just for fun" sites we've run across.
Just for fun

Games,
games, and more games!! There are enough free games and demos to keep you
busy, just ask my wife! Here are some places I've gotten some.
Let the games begin
Music is one
of the four or five conversation topics sure to get me going. It is also
one of the connections I have with my wife, family, and numerous friends.
Now for some Music links

Some of the
sites I go to when I need some help, ideas, etc., about computers, including
doing Web Sites. Includes some great graphics sources.

As you may recall
about my wanting to be a polymath from my Home page, part of my attraction
to the Web is the vast amount of knowledge there is out there. Here are
a few links to some starting places for halfway decent information on many
topics, including News, Science, Technology, Libraries, and Places.
Information
Yes, indeed,
there is pleasure in thinking. One comment I have heard most of my life
is, "You think too much."
While there
is certainly a lot of junk on the Web, there are many sites that
I have found which stimulate thinking and creativity. This includes some
links for Arts, Ideas, Points of View.
And until I
can get the links going, there are bits of wisdom to sample.
I think, therefore I am.
There is more
to life than what is readily seen most of the time. My definition of "Spirituality"
would be the bond that holds all of life's various parts together and makes
sense out of them. Since this is something that has to be experienced,
rather than explained, I have found little on the Net that adds to my understanding.
However, I will try to add my little piece.
I am currently
running commentary in the back of my mind on a treatise I may or may not
write some day. The title is (or will be),
"Why I Am a Christian, And Why
I Sometimes Don't Say It Out Loud."
Here are some thoughts along
those lines.
And here are
some links to some friends' sites. Without friends, much of the rest of
this would be useless. By the way, if you're a friend (or want to be),
see this, have a site that I've overlooked, and want to be added, e-mail
me.
