Social Studies on the Web
Social Studies on the Web---A collection of Web Resources for teachers and students of Social Studies, links and ideas for lesson planning using the Web.
I'm Ellis Batson, a recent graduate of the University of Louisville, in the Master of Arts in Teaching program. I have certification for Secondary Social Studies and Mathematics, and have just started an exciting position teaching Mathematics at Central High School Magnet Career Academy, Louisville, KY.
Useful technology should be just as much a part of the Social Studies classroom as in Math and Science. And since all the various Social Studies disciplines are all studies of people, what better place than the Web to start?
I'm trying to gather any and all resources on the Web to help Social Studies teachers and students. I want it to be a resource useable by many, in a useable format. I am especially interested in helping students to use the tremendous technology resources available to them in creative ways that enhance their learning and to stimulate their innate curiosity.
This is an ongoing project. Any ideas you have are welcome. Please send links and/or ideas (including any dead links you find here) to:
