What's it all about those summer nights
when the world is touched by the soft
moon-light, when everyone is everyone else's friend,
in the long quiet hours that never
seem to end,
the camp fires glow,
with warmth and light,
a golden aura in the dark,
of the night & friends gather
around the fire b
beneath the stars above to laugh,
to sing, & to share stories
with the ones they love
& from the shimmering lake
comes a cool soft breeze whispering
in the silver leaves
of the tall & silent trees,
it waves gently wash upon
the sandy shore that touches
the beginning of the forest floor,
the night becomes an
enchanted land where trees guard
us as so proudly they
stand & fire-flies like tiny
lanterns fly like children
of the stars that
shine on us in the midnight sky,
there is something i love
about summer nights,
so cool & still in the
soft moon-light,
so magical as if it were
only a dream where anything
could happen or so it may seem,
& ever so slowly the dawn
comes in because
even the most beautiful night must end.
