'Twas the night before Christmas
and all through the camp,
Big Rats were caroling under the
lamp,
Our Flack jackets hung in our
bunker with care.
In hope not to find "Charlie under
a flare".
Arty was quite for the first time
we known
and we all stood hunkered wishing
for snow, Our Eyes & heart
wished for the people here in Nam.
"Screw them all cried our
conscience, including General Nam."
Suddenly a patter on the sandbags
so near,
Our Hearts blutter madly
"Is Santa Claus Here"?
The Mud strikes out faces, Lungs
filled
with Aviation gas,
HELL, its just SNOOPY on a low
pass,
But our hearts wander homeward
to our Love Ones far away.
And warmly we remember,
We will be home some day.
