internet radio fees adopted
This just in: Librarian of Congress adopts webcasting royalty plan. It seems the Librarian of Congress has rejected a two-tier royalty system, but I haven't read the decision enough to decide if it's good news for Internet radio (my first impression is that it isn't). I'll be back with more as soon as I figure out what this all means.
Update: According to the WaPo, it doesn't look good. ZDNet has a similar take. Here's CNN's coverage, which leads by saying the ruling dissatisfied both netcasters and the recording industry. And Musashi of Destroy All Monsters--who himself runs an Internet radio station--has posted a rant decrying the ruling on his site.
