a severe taunting
Although I'd hoped to attend tonight's Bruce Srpingsteen concert here in Indianpolis, I've decided not to. Frankly, it's close enough to Xmas that spending $150 on two concert tickets just isn't a wise move. Which is sad, as it'll be the first local Springsteen show I've missed since the Born in the USA tour.
All this makes me feel like a ridiculous old man, of course, but NPR had to go and rub it in--this morning, I heard an appreciation by New Orleans Times-Picayune columnist Chris Rose on his experience following the Bruce Springsteen tour across Texas at the age of 42, and recalling some of the concerts he attended in his youth.
By way of compensating, today's Xmas MP3 is the Boss's rendition of "Santa Claus is Comin' To Town."
Update: Here's the local paper's review. I *knew* he'd introduce the band during the raucous rave-up "Mary's Place."
