failure and success
D'oh! When I got home yesterday evening, I discovered I'd forgotten to switch off the VCR after watching anime Wednesday night, and so it failed to record Thursday's installment of Giant Robot Week. Fortunately, I didn't miss an episode of Nadesico, but I would have liked to have taped the Robotech installment for old times' sake.
I was peripherally aware that Cartoon Network shows a lot of anime, but checking the schedule, I was astonished to see how much I've been missing! I can do without DBZ, but I've been meaning to check out Cowboy Bebop, so I may have to set my VCR for some more taping.
Speaking of anime, a DVD Musashi of Destroy All Monsters sent me to review arrived yesterday--Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death and Rebirth. I watched it last night. I agree with the assessment in this Destroy All Monsters forum thread: it's "freakycrazy," but still enjoyable. I'll definitely have to watch it again (and maybe yet again) to assimilate enough to write a review, meanwhile, there's a synopsis at Amazon.com.
