A place for parents to find information:

I wanted to call our site "No, I am not crazy!!" For years we were told that our oldest son was "just shy", or "just picky", or "just awkward". We tried our best to help him cope as his world often overwhelmed him. No one  seemed to be able to answer our questions. Until now....
When our youngest son showed signs of developmental delays, we were introduced to our state's early intervention program, "First Steps". Through the process of working with wonderful therapists (physical, speech and occupational) we have learned that both boys are affected by Sensory Integration Disorder.. In our search to understand and find ways to help our children, we came across many sites filled with information. We also found other parents searching for answers and supporting each other--" Fellow travelers...."

This page was born of  a desire to share information and encouragement. A place where parents and professionals can exchange ideas and experiences. We would appreciate hearing from anyone with info, ideas, experiences, or questions.   Through you we hope to continue to expand our site and our knowledge. Most importantly, we want to raise awareness-- so that no one travels this road alone.
