Front Page News

In some issues of our newsletter, Blues News, we run profiles of local blues bands. If you would like to have your band considered for a future edition and you play in the Kentuckiana area, please go to the Band Profile Info page to send us the information.

On Wednesday, August 6, 2014, Check's Cafe and the Kentuckiana Blues Society presented Kosair Charities a check for $1,000. The funds were a portion of the proceeds from this year's Germantown-Schnitzelburg Blues Festival. Kosair Charities' mission is to protect the health and well-being of children in Kentucky and Southern Indiana by providing financial support for clinical services, research, pediatric healthcare education and child advocacy.

Pictured from left to right are Gary Sampson, president of the KBS; John Murrow, owner of Check's Cafe; Marki Goodlett, Kosair Charities Special Events Coordinator and local bluesman Lamont Gillispie.

The 2015 Germantown-Schnitzelburg Blues Festival will take place on Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6, 2015
